COASTAL & ESTUARINE DYNAMICS OBSERVATORY
Climate change caused extreme weather and sea level rise will
damage coastlines and estuaries (C&E) and coastal & waterfront
buildings and infrastructure costing hundreds of billions. Timely
investment in developing monitoring and solution technology can
significantly avoid and reduce this expense.
The CEDO program is directed to develop an estuary observatory
and a coastal 'ocean observatory' to research & trial solutions to-
•
low cost monitoring of C&E dynamics & processes
•
integrated simulation of C&E dynamics & processes
•
devices to reduce current & wave energy impacts on C&E
•
technology for slowing/stopping/reversing C&E damage and
whenever economically beneficial for this to be -
o
powered by tidal & wave renewable energy generation
